2011-12 Softball Fall Schedule

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ---- The Samford softball squad will open its fall schedule this weekend, playing a double-header against Snead State on Saturday, Sept. 24. The first match will be played at noon with the second game set to follow at 2 p.m.

"I am so excited to get on the field and see our team compete this fall," said Head Coach Mandy Burford. "Fall Ball gives the players a great opportunity to play different positions and get some experience in pressure situations.

"Our fall workout and practice sessions have been packed full of energy and excitement. Everyone is ready to put on the Samford jersey and compete."

Six more games in October round out the fall schedule for the Bulldogs. Saturday, Oct. 1 is a jam-packed day for the team, as they will play three matches throughout the day. They first square off against Shorter at 11 a.m., following that up with a 4 p.m. game against Faulkner State and then play another game against Shorter at 6 p.m. On Thursday, Oct. 13, Samford welcomes Shelton State for a 6 p.m. ball game. The Bulldogs conclude the fall schedule with a double-header against the University of Alabama-Huntsville on Sunday, Oct. 16 with matches at 1 and 3 p.m.
