CHARLESTON, S.C. -
The Samford women's basketball team earned its second-straight Southern Conference road win in a 60-54 victory at College of Charleston Monday evening at TD Arena.
With the win, Samford improves to 8-6 overall and 3-2 in SoCon play. College of Charleston falls to 2-13 overall and 1-5 in league play.
"This was another toughness win for our team, which we needed," Samford head coach Mike Morris said. "We started well and then we had some moments where we were not very good. But down the stretch some big shots were made and some big stops were made by our team. This was a great road trip for our team."
Samford was led in scoring by Paige Anderson with 15 points. Jazmine Martin scored 12 points, while Taylor Reece, Hannah Dawson and Christy Robinson added eight points each. The Samford bench outscored the Charleston reserves, 20-3.
