Feb. 26, 2012

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. ---- Samford's Michael Seaman made a quick turnaround from winning his third-consecutive conference title in the pole vault Thursday, as the senior earned an invitation to compete in the USA Indoor Championships in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Sunday, Feb. 26.

The Bardstown, Ky., native finished 10th with a height of 17-4.5 (5.30m). He was the only collegiate competitor in the field and is the first ever Samford athlete to compete at the meet. The event winner was Nike athlete Brad Walker with a height of 19-2.75 (5.86m).

Seaman and the rest of the Bulldogs will have one more meet before the NCAA Championships, as they head back to the Birmingham Crossplex for the Alabama High Tide Qualifier on Saturday, March 3.
