AUBURN, Ala. -- The Samford University track and field teams will look to build on their positive momentum in the 2017 outdoor season this weekend as the Bulldogs compete in the War Eagle Invitational being held Friday and Saturday at Hutsell-Rosen Track on the campus of Auburn University.
The 2017 War Eagle Invitational is scheduled to begin Friday at 2 p.m. (CT) with the men's hammer throw. The running events are slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.
Saturday's action will begin at 11:30 a.m., with the women's pole vault. The running events start at noon with the women's 4x100-meter relay and conclude at 4:45 p.m., with the men's 4x400-meter relay.
The War Eagle Invitational will feature a large field this weekend. Along with Samford and the homestanding Auburn Tigers, the two-day event will also include Alabama, Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Chattanooga, Coastal Carolina, Jacksonville, Kent State, Middle Tennessee, Ole Miss, South Alabama, Troy, Vermont, Virginia Tech and Yale.
