JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. -- The Samford University soccer team received key second-half goals from senior

Ella Baggett on Sunday to defeat the homestanding ETSU Buccaneers in an early Southern Conference showdown held at Summers-Taylor Stadium.
With the victory,
Samford (6-5-1, 2-0 SoCon) extended its undefeated streak to six consecutive matches and registered its fifth straight shutout.
Since Sept. 3, the Bulldogs have played to a 1-1 home draw with Georgia and then tallied shutout road victories against Western Kentucky, UC Davis, Saint Mary's (CA), Western Carolina and
ETSU (3-7-0, 1-1 SoCon).
Samford's defense has been impeccable as of late and hasn't allowed a goal in the last 560 minutes of action. The Bulldogs outshot ETSU, 14-3, on Sunday, including an 11-2 tally in shots on goal.

Anna Maddox, the reigning SoCon Player of the Week, notched her fifth straight shutout. The Bulldogs' talented 6-foot native of Warner Robins, Georgia, earned two key saves against the Buccaneers.
Argueta, Samford's speedy senior forward from Clarksville, Tennessee, scored the game-winning goal Sunday in the 52
nd minute of action. Her unassisted score ended a 0-0 draw in the contest and occurred as she rifled a shot from 10 yards out into the left side of the net.
Approximately 13 minutes later, at 19:10 into the second half, the Bulldogs garnered a 2-0 advantage following a goal from Baggett from eight yards out. Her tally, the fourth of her collegiate career, was also unassisted and pushed into the left corner of the net.
The Samford University soccer team will next be in action Friday at 7 p.m. (CT) as the Bulldogs begin a three-match SoCon homestand against the Chattanooga Mocs to be held at home in the Samford Track and Soccer Stadium.
