GREENSBORO, N.C. – The Samford men's tennis team dropped a Southern Conference match at UNCG, 6-1 Monday afternoon.

Samford won the No. 1 doubles match, with Eduardo Lourido and Jake Faundez defeating Connor Thompson and Ollie Palmer, 6-4. UNCG, however took the doubles matches on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts to secure the doubles point.

Samford earned the win on the No. 5 singles court, with Aleksandar Petrovic defeating Ian Melnik, 6-1, 3-6, 6-1.

UNCG, however, won the matches at No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 to earn the 6-1 win.

Samford falls to 5-7 overall and 0-2 in Southern Conference play with the loss. UNCG improves to 5-3 overall and 1-1 in league matches with the win.

Samford will play at The Citadel Wednesday. The match is set for a 12:30 p.m. (CT) start from Charleston, S.C.
