EUGENE, Ore. -- The Samford University track and field team will continue to compete on the national stage Wednesday as the Bulldogs' Arsène Guillorel and Tray Oates are scheduled to challenge for NCAA titles at the 2018 Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships to be held at historic Hayward Field.
 
All participants in the upcoming individual and relay events qualified through competition at preliminary round sites held on May 24-26, in Tampa, Florida, and Sacramento, California.
 
The NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships are scheduled to be held June 6-9 in Eugene, Oregon.
 
Samford's Guillorel and Oates both qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Championships with outstanding performances this season. Guillorel qualified for the championships in the 10,000 meters, while Oates advanced in the pole vault.
 
Guillorel's top time this season, a blistering mark of 29:00.00, is good enough for the one of the best 24 times in the nation. Oates also enters the NCAA Championships as one of the top athletes in the nation. His height of 5.66 meters this season is one of the best mark in the country this year.
 
On Wednesday, Samford's Oates will get things started for the Bulldogs at 7 p.m. (CT) with the championship round of the pole vault competition. Then, just a couple hours later at 9:08 p.m., Guillorel is slated to begin the championship final of the 10,000-meter run. The top eight finishers in each event of the NCAA Outdoor Championships will earn All-America status.
 
Wednesday's competition will be broadcast live on ESPN2 beginning at 6:30 p.m. (CT). All remaining events and races can be found via coverage on ESPN3.
