BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford University soccer team extended its unbeaten Southern Conference match-streak to 18 thanks to a late
Erin Bonner header to earn the Bulldogs a 2-2 draw with Mercer Sunday night at the Samford Track & Soccer Stadium. Samford is now 4-5-1 overall and 1-0-1 in SoCon play.

- Samford got on the scoreboard first when Caroline Orman's cross was kicked into the net by a Mercer defender for an own goal in the 67th minute.
- Mercer answered with two goals to take a 2-1 lead. The Bears' first goal came when Caroline Smith headed in a free kick from Abigail Zoeller in the 77th minute and their second came when Zoeller knocked home a penalty kick in the 82nd minute.
- Bonner's heroic game-tying header found the back of the net after Patterson beat a defender down the left side and sent a perfect cross into the box.
