BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's basketball team dropped a 74-66 decision to ETSU in Southern Conference action Thursday night at the Pete Hanna Center.
With the loss, Samford falls to 13-10 overall and 3-7 in SoCon play. ETSU improves to 18-5 overall and 8-2 in league contests.

- Ruben Guerrero led Samford with 17 points, 10 rebounds and a school-record eight blocked shots.
- Josh Sharkey had 15 points and eight assists.
- Myron Gordon added 11 points for the Bulldogs.
- Patrick Good led ETSU with 27 points.
- Jeromy Rodriguez had 12 points and nine rebounds for the Bucs.
- Tray Boyd and Isaiah Tisdale added 11 points each for ETSU.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Samford jumped out to an early 12-5 lead with 11:10 to go in the first half after a jumper by Sharkey.
- ETSU answered with a 12-4 run to take a 17-16 lead with 7:27 left in the half.
- Samford came back with a 6-0 run to take a 22-17 lead with 5:52 left in the half after a layup by Sharkey.
- The Bucs fought back to take a 29-26 lead with 1:40 left before halftime.
- Samford scored the final four points of the half to take a 30-29 lead into the locker room at halftime.
- ETSU scored the first seven points of the second half to take a 36-30 lead with 17:47 to go.
- The Bucs pushed their lead to 10 points at 46-36 with 13:32 to go in the second half.
- Samford answered with a 9-2 run to cut the ETSU lead to three at 48-45 with 11:09 to go after a jumper by Gordon.
- ETSU pushed its lead back out to seven points at 52-45 at the 9:26 mark in the second half.
- Samford answered with a 10-3 run to knot the score at 55-55 with 5:58 to go after a pair of free throws by Sharkey.
- With the score tied at 58-58, ETSU went on a 9-0 run, started by a four-point play by Good.
- Samford could get no closer than six points the rest of the way as ETSU came away with the 74-66 win.
