RUSTON, La. – The Samford men's basketball team dropped a 78-57 decision at Louisiana Tech Saturday evening.

With the loss, Samford falls to 4-5 on the season. Louisiana Tech improves to 5-2 with the win.

Robert Allen led Samford with 14 points and eight rebounds.
Josh Sharkey had 13 points and six assists.
Logan Dye had 10 points and six rebounds.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

The teams traded baskets early until Louisiana Tech was able to take a 12-8 lead with 11:57 left in the first half after a jumper by Oliver Powell.
Samford came back to take a 15-14 lead with 9:56 to go in the half following a three-pointer by Donte Tatum.
With Samford trailing, 20-19, Louisiana Tech went on a 10-0 run to take a 30-19 lead with 1:12 left in the half after a pair of free throws by Derric Jean.
Louisiana Tech took a 33-24 lead into the locker room at halftime.
Louisiana Tech opened the second half on a 6-0 run to push its lead to 39-24.
Louisiana Tech stretched its lead to 20 points at 48-28 with 13:15 left.
Samford went on a 7-0 run to cut the lead to 13 points at 48-35 with 12:23 left after two free throws by Allen.
Samford, however, could get no closer than 13 points the rest of the way and Louisiana tech came away with a 78-57 win.
