WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Samford men's basketball team dropped a 99-71 contest at Georgetown Saturday afternoon at Capital One Arena.

With the loss, Samford falls to 6-8 on the season. Georgetown improves to 9-3 with the win.

Brandon Austin led Samford with 26 points in the loss.
Josh Sharkey had 24 points and seven assists.
Jalen Dupree had eight points and nine rebounds for the Bulldogs.
Georgetown was led by Omer Yurtseven with 32 points and 17 rebounds.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

Samford took an early 9-8 lead with 15:22 to go in the first half after a three-pointer by Logan Padgett.
Georgetown answered with a 12-0 run to take a 20-9 lead with 11:48 to go in the half after three free throws by Jahvon Blair.
Georgetown pushed its lead out to 22 points at 40-18, but Samford went on an 11-2 run to cut the lead to 13 points at 42-29, and the Hoyas led, 44-31 at halftime.
The Hoyas started the second half hot, taking a 62-36 lead with 16:06 to go in the contest.
Samford fought back to cut the lead to 20 points at 78-58, but Georgetown was able to stretch the lead out to 30 at 94-64 with 3:11 to go in the game.
The Hoyas finished with the 99-71 win.
