Men's Tennis Earns 4-1 Win Over Nicholls

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team earned a 4-1 win over Nicholls Sunday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.

With the win, Samford improves to 3-3 on the young season. Nicholls falls to 0-5 with the loss.

"We did a good job today of bouncing back after yesterday's loss," Samford head coach Rahim Esmail said. "We were a much better team today because we did the things that we need to do to get better as a team, and actually implemented the things we talked about. We need to keep focusing on improving each week."

Samford won the doubles matches at No. 1 and No. 3 to clinch the first point of the match. The match at No. 2 doubles was unfinished.

In singles, Samford earned wins at No. 1, No. 4 and No. 5. Nicholls picked up the win on the No. 2 singles court, ending the match in a 4-1 Samford win.

Samford will host South Alabama next Saturday, Feb. 9. The match is set for a 3 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center and admission is FREE!
