BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's basketball team dropped a hard-fought Southern Conference game to Wofford, 67-62 Wednesday evening in the Pete Hanna Center.
With the loss, Samford falls to 8-9 overall and 2-1 in Southern Conference play. Wofford improves to 10-6 overall and 2-1 in league games.

- Samford was led in scoring by Brandon Austin with 16 points.
- Josh Sharkey scored 15 points and dished out six assists.
- Robert Allen had 13 points for the Bulldogs.
- Jalen Dupree scored nine points and grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds.
- Nathan Hoover led Wofford with 22 points.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- After Wofford took an early 5-0 lead, Samford responded with a 9-0 run to take a 9-5 advantage with 16:26 left in the first half after a layup by Allen.
- Samford pushed its lead to seven points at 16-9 with 13:06 to play in the first half following a three-point play by Sharkey.
- Wofford fought back to tie the game at 23-23 with 6:23 left in the first period after a three-pointer by Trevor Stumpe.
- Samford took a six-point lead at 31-25 with 2:15 left in the half after a three-pointer by Austin.
- Samford held a 35-32 lead at halftime.
- Wofford took a 42-41 lead with 12:45 left in the game after a pair of free throws by Hoover.
- Samford fought back to take a 45-44 lead at the 10:40 mark in the second half after a three-pointer by Allen.
- The teams traded baskets down the stretch as the score was tied six times in the last 10 minutes of the contest.
- Samford took a 62-61 lead with 2:22 to go after a three-point play by Brandon Austin.
- Wofford, however, scored the final six points of the contest to pull out the 67-62 win.
