SAMFORD AT INDIANA GAME NOTES
BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's basketball team will remain on the road when the Bulldogs take on the 13th-ranked Indiana Hoosiers Thursday at 5 p.m. (CT) from Assembly Hall.

Samford enters the game with a record of 0-2. The Bulldogs have opened the season with back-to-back games at SEC schools, falling at Alabama (83-68) and Auburn (66-64). Indiana has a record of 1-0. The Hoosiers defeated Eastern Kentucky, 100-51, Nov. 25.
Samford and Indiana have met just once previously. On Dec. 11, 2015, The Bulldogs took the Hoosiers to overtime before eventually falling by a score of 65-56 in Assembly Hall.

ARMSTRONG PICKS UP WHERE SHE LEFT OFF: Samford senior center
Natalie Armstrong has picked up right where she left off last season. Through two games so far this season, Armstrong is averaging 17.5 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. She had 25 points and 10 rebounds in the season opener at Alabama, and then turned in 10 points and six rebounds at Auburn.
BATTLE NAMED SOCON PLAYER OF THE WEEK: Senior
Shauntai Battle was named the Southern Conference's Player of the Week following the first week of action. Through the first two games of the season, she is averaging 20.0 points per game. She scored 21 points in the season opener at Alabama, and then contributed 19 points in Saturday's narrow loss at Auburn. So far this season, Battle is shooting 51.6 percent from the floor and 46.2 percent from three-point range. She is also averaging 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game through the first two games of the season.
FACING THE BEST: This season, Samford will play another stellar non-conference schedule. The Bulldogs have already taken on both Auburn and Alabama. Following Thursday night's game at Indiana, Samford also has games scheduled at Kentucky (Dec. 13) and Vanderbilt (Dec. 28).
ARMSTRONG NEARS CAREER MILESTONE: Natalie Armstrong enters this game with 918 career points, leaving her just 82 points shy of becoming just the ninth player in program history to score 1,000 points in their careers. Her 918 career points rank ninth in school history.
