MACON, Ga. – The Samford men's basketball team dropped a 106-66 decision at Mercer Wednesday night in Southern Conference action at Hawkins Arena.
 
With the loss, Samford falls to 9-20 overall and 3-12 in Southern Conference play. Mercer improves to 14-14 overall and 8-7 in league games.

• Jalen Dupree had 17 points and 11 rebounds to lead Samford.
• Josh Sharkey scored 17 points and dished out six assists.
• Robert Allen added 15 points for Samford.
• Mercer was led by Jeff Gary with 32 points.

 
GAME HIGHLIGHTS

• Samford took an early 15-12 lead with 12:23 left in the first half after a layup by Sharkey.
• Mercer fought back to take a 22-19 lead with 8:22 left in the half after a layup by Djordje Dimitrijevic.
• Samford then went on a 9-2 run to take a 28-24 lead with 5:04 to go in the half after a layup by Sharkey.
• Mercer answered with a 7-0 run of its own to take a 31-28 lead with 4:20 left in the first half after a three-pointer by Gary.
• With Mercer leading, 31-30, the Bears closed the first half with a 16-2 run to take a 47-32 lead into the locker room at halftime.
• In the second half, Mercer led by as many as 42 points, and the Bears finished with the 106-66 win.
