BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team earned a 4-3 win over Murray State Sunday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.
 
With the win, Samford improves to 5-4 on the young season. Murray State falls to 7-4 with the loss.
 
Samford took the first point of the match by winning on the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles courts to secure the doubles point. The match at No. 3 doubles was not finished.
 
Samford earned wins at No. 1, No. 3 and No. 6 singles to close out the 4-3 victory.
 
Samford will return to action Feb. 29, when the Bulldogs travel to Mobile to play at South Alabama. The match is set for a 10 a.m. start.
