BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – In a battle of top teams in the Southern Conference, the Samford women's basketball team fell, 69-63, to Wofford Saturday afternoon in the Pete Hanna Center.
With the loss, Samford falls to 11-13 overall and 6-3 in Southern Conference play. The Bulldogs are now in a three-way tie for first place in the league standings with Wofford and UNCG. Wofford is now 13-11 overall and 6-3 in SoCon contests.

- Sarah Myers led Samford with 18 points and seven rebounds.
- Charity Brown had 14 points and eight assists.
- Shauntai Battle tallied 12 points and six rebounds.
- Wofford was led by Chloe Wanink with 19 points.
GAME HIGHLIGHTS
- Wofford scored the first five points of the game to take the early lead.
- Samford fought back to cut the lead to one on several occasions in the first quarter, but Wofford held a 19-13 lead at the end of the first quarter.
- The Terriers built their lead to as many as eight points in the second quarter at 23-15 and 26-18.
- Samford, however, came back to cut the lead to one at 29-28 with 2:57 left in the period after a three-pointer by Myers.
- Wofford took a 35-31 lead into the locker room at halftime.
- The Terriers extended their lead to nine points at 42-33 with 6:06 to go in the third quarter after a layup by Lilly Hatton.
- Samford answered with a 9-2 run to cut the lead to 44-42 with 4:34 left in the quarter after a three-pointer by Myers.
- With Wofford leading, 50-46, Samford scored the final six points of the third quarter to take a 52-50 lead into the fourth quarter.
- With Samford leading 55-50, Wofford went on a 13-3 run to take a 63-58 lead with 2:33 left after a three-pointer by Hatton.
- Samford fought back to cut the lead to two at 65-63 with 26 seconds left after three free throws by Brown.
- Wofford, however, made several key free throws down the stretch to pull out the 69-63 win.
