LEXINGTON, Va. – Samford University's track and field men's and women's teams swept the 2020 Southern Conference Indoor Championships, Sunday.

The Bulldogs led the two-day meet wire-to-wire, as the women's squad claimed their fifth-consecutive indoor title, while the men's team won the first indoor championship in program history. The Bulldogs have won a Southern Conference title in either Indoor or Outdoor Track every year since the 2014 campaign.
For their performances,
Matt Cahoon and
Emmanuel Tait were named the Heath Whittle Award winners which is given to the Men's Most Outstanding Athlete. Â

Amanda Dumar took home the Women's Pinnacle Award, while
Hunter Poole took home the Men's Pinnacle Award, given to the athlete with the highest GPA on the championship-winning team.
Samford had 10 student-athletes, as well as one relay team earn championships, and 10 more individuals and another relay team claim second-place finishes.

Samford will have a few weekends to recuperate before opening the 2020 outdoor campaign at the University of South Alabama, March 20-21.
