HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Bulldogs got off to a hot start as senior Maddie Dorsett got on base with a leadoff walk. Dorsett stole second and came around to score on a single from fellow senior Kathryn Jackson.
- The bottom of the third was a five-single affair that drove in three runs for the Bulldogs giving them a 4-0 lead.
- Bryant got back two runs in the top of the fourth inning, but Samford roared back in the bottom of the inning with four runs on four hits to make the score 8-2.
- Samford added one run each in the bottom of the fifth and the bottom of the sixth to win the game 10-2.
IN THE CIRCLE
- Senior Taylor DeCelles got the start for Samford in the Bulldogs' second midweek matchup.
- DeCelles got the win (2-7) giving up two runs on six hits in 6.0 innings pitched.
- Gabrielle Ermish (1-6) took the loss for Bryant giving up five runs on eight hits in 3.0 innings pitched.
