BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford University head men's basketball coach Scott Padgett will not return next season after serving the past six years, Director of Athletics Martin Newton announced on Monday, March 16.
"I want to thank Coach Padgett for his service to Samford University and I sincerely appreciate his efforts on behalf of the program and our student-athletes," Newton said.
Padgett guided the Bulldogs to an 84-115 record, including a 34-74 mark in the Southern Conference, during his tenure.
The Bulldogs closed the 2019-20 campaign with a 10-23 record, finishing 7th in the final Southern Conference standings.
