AUBURN, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team continued its 2021 season with a 6-1 loss at Auburn Sunday afternoon at the Yarbrough Tennis Center.
 
Tomas Santantonio earned Samford's lone win with a 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-7) victory over Tom Wright at No. 5 singles.

"We played another tough doubles point today," Samford head coach Rahim Esmail said. "Tomas competed very well today in singles. Other courts were able to put themselves in positions to win but fell a little short. Overall, a good weekend of competition against two very good teams."
 
Samford (0-3) has started its season with a tough slate, opening with two matches at Alabama Saturday, and following with Sunday's contest at Auburn.
 
Samford will play its first home match of the season when the Bulldogs host Troy Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Samford Tennis Center.
