CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Samford women's basketball team remained unbeaten in Southern Conference play with its sixth-straight overall win in a 71-60 victory at Chattanooga Thursday night at McKenzie Arena.
The win was Samford's first at Chattanooga since March 6, 2011 in a 68-66 overtime win in the semifinals of the SoCon Tournament. Samford improves to 7-6 overall and 4-0 in SoCon play. Chattanooga falls to 7-6 overall and 2-2 in league play. This marks Samford's first 4-0 start to SoCon play since the 2014-15 season.

- Andrea Cournoyer led Samford with a career-high 26 points, while also dishing out five assists.
- Annie Ramil posted a double-double for Samford with 10 points and 12 rebounds.
- Raven Omar scored 14 points for the Bulldogs.
- Natalie Armstrong added 10 points and six rebounds for Samford.
- Chattanooga was led by Abbey Cornelius with 18 points and 15 rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- With Samford leading, 11-8, the Bulldogs used an 8-0 run to push their lead to 19-8 with 5:24 to go in the first quarter after a three-pointer by Cournoyer.
- Samford held a 25-16 lead at the end of the first quarter.
- Chattanooga cut the Samford lead to 27-24 with 7:09 to play in the second quarter after a three-pointer by Bria Dial.
- Samford scored the next five points to push its lead out to 32-24 with 5:57 left in the period after a three-pointer by Cournoyer.
- The Mocs came back to cut the lead to one at 32-31 with 4:45 left in the second quarter after a jumper by Eboni Williams.
- Samford closed the quarter with a 10-0 run to take a 42-31 lead into the locker room at halftime.
- Chattanooga opened the third quarter with a 10-0 run to cut the lead to one at 42-41 with 6:10 to go in the period after a layup by Sigrun Olafsdottir.
- Samford then pushed the lead back out to seven at 48-41 with 2:57 left in the third quarter after a jumper by Cournoyer.
- The Mocs scored the next eight-straight points for a 49-48 lead with 39 seconds left in the period after a layup by Williams.
- A jumper by Armstrong with 15 seconds left in the third quarter gave Samford a 50-49 lead at the conclusion of the quarter.
- After Chattanooga took a 51-50 lead, a three-pointer by Cournoyer gave Samford a 53-51 lead with 6:53 to go in the fourth quarter.
- Samford pushed its lead to 57-51 with 5:10 left in the quarter after a layup by Ramil.
- Chattanooga cut the lead back to three at 59-56 with 3:25 to go after a free throw by Olafsdottir.
- Samford went on a 12-2 run to push its lead to 71-58 with 36 seconds to go after a pair of free throws by Omar.
- The Bulldogs finished with the 71-60 victory.
