Bulldogs Tie For Eighth At Lady Red Wolves Classic

JONESBORO, Ark. – The Samford women's golf team tied for eighth out of 16 teams at the Lady Red Wolves Classic, hosted by Arkansas State Monday and Tuesday at Sage Meadows Golf Club (par 72, 6,164 yards).
As a team, Samford finished with a score of 898 (302-302-294). The score tied the Bulldogs with Troy for eighth place in the event. Eastern Kentucky won the tournament with a three-round total of 858 (286-287-285).
Individually, Samford was led in the tournament by Sophie Membrino, who tied for 10th in the 89-player field. Membrino finished with a three-round score of 219 (73-73-73). Bailey Dunstan tied for 31st at 225 (75-75-75). Mary Kate Horton and Kelley Topiwala both tied for 41st with identical scores of 227. Horton shot rounds of 76, 80 and 71, while Topiwala had rounds of 78, 74 and 75.
Rylea Marcum of Eastern Kentucky earned individual medalist honors. She finished with a final score of 205 (64-70-71.
Samford will return to action Oct. 25-26 at the Wofford College Invitational in Spartanburg, S.C.
