Samford Women’s Tennis Finishes Run In Main Draw Of ITA Southern Regional

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Two singles players and a doubles pair from Samford women's tennis advanced to the main draw of the ITA Southern Regional, with the impressive run ending Saturday for the Bulldogs.
Alexis Lopez fell in the second round of the main draw Saturday, dropping a 7-5, 2-6, 0-6 decision to Tamara Racine of Mississippi State.
Samantha Nanere also reached the singles main draw, being eliminated Friday night in a 6-3, 6-4 decision to Lara van der Merwe of South Alabama.
In doubles, Lopez and partner Sofia Zaprianov fell to Loudmilla Bencheikh and Ann Marie Hiser of Alabama in Saturday's Round of 32 by a score of 8-3.
Samford will return to action on Oct. 29-31 at the College of Charleston Invite.
