With the win, the Bulldogs move to an overall record of 4-5 on the season, while the Tigers have yet to win a match this season for a record of 0-3.

"We did a good job maintaining our intensity today. We got off to good starts in both doubles and singles on all courts and kept our foot on the gas the entire time. The team did a good job of playing with discipline and compete hard across the board", said Head Coach Rahim Esmail.

Samford controlled doubles action from the very start with Victor Chaw and Jim Hendrix snagging a 6-2 victory over their opponents, Stefan Koruga and Maksims Kazijevs, at court one. Eladio Fabregas and Harrison Williams also saw a 6-2 win at the No. 2 spot over Leandros Misdrachis and Diego Britt-Alvarez. On court three, Rossouw Norval and Matthew Gooch received a default win after Tennessee State had an insufficient lineup.

The momentum continued into singles play with five courts finding straight-set victories over the Tigers. Rossouw Norval found another win at the No. 1 spot with a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Stefan Koruga. Victor Chaw only allowed his opponent, Leandros Misdrachis, two points throughout two sets, earning him 6-1, 6-1 win at court two. Eladio Fabregas added another win for the Bulldogs at the No. 3 spot, defeating his opponent Diego Britt-Alvarez 6-3, 6-2.

Jim Hendrix cruised to a 6-2, 6-0 win over Maksims Kazijevs on court four, while Tomas Santantonio recorded a 6-2 win in the first set before blanking Alberto Gonzalez-Raton 6-0 in the second frame. Harrison Williams collected his default win at the No. 6 spot due to an insufficient lineup from Tennessee State once again.

The Samford men's tennis team will travel to Huntsville, Ala. to compete against Alabama A&M on Saturday, Mar. 6 at 1 p.m. at the Bulldog Tennis Courts.
