"Today was a very competitive match. UNCG compete very hard, and we had to earn it today. We did a good job, from start to finish, getting up a break and keeping our foot on the gas and maintaining that momentum. Looking forward to competing again next weekend," said head Coach Rahim Esmail.

The doubles point would be locked in by the Bulldogs after dominant performances on all the courts. Samford duo Victor Chaw and Jim Hendrix had no problem at the top spot, defeating their opponents, Ollie Palmer and Alexander Zuckerman, 6-2 to continue to lead the Bulldogs with an overall record of 9-0. At the No. 2 spot, Tomas Santantonio and Eladio Fabregas captured their seventh win of the season with a 6-4 victory over Christopher Johns and Nico Grewe, while Rossouw Norval and Mohammed Ali Bellalouna handed their opponents, Hugh Knapp and Cooper Wyett, a 6-1 loss on court three.

Samford didn't stop there as the Bulldogs won five of the six matches in singles competition. Rossouw Norval claimed the No. 1 victory with a 7-6, 6-1 win over Hugh Knapp to improve his overall record to 8-3 on the season. Eladio Fabregas had the biggest battle for Samford, rallying against his opponent, Nico Grewe, in the third set for a 6-2, 3-6, 6-3 win at the No. 3 spot. On the next court over, fellow Bulldog Jim Hendrix locked in his eighth win of the season after a 6-2, 6-3 victory over Alexander Zuckerman.

Tomas Santantonio defeated his opponent Roger Rogowski on court five after securing a 6-3 win in the first set and blanking Rogowski 6-0 in the second set to take the win. At the No. 6 spot, Mohammed Ali Bellalouna also blanked his opponent, Cooper Wyett, 6-0 in the first set and closed out his match with a 6-4 win in the second set.

The Samford men's tennis team will take to the road next weekend to compete against ETSU on Sunday, Mar. 28 at 11 a.m. at the Dave Mullins Tennis Complex.
