TROY, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team earned a 5-2 win at Troy Friday afternoon at the Lunsford Tennis Complex.
 
With the win, Samford improves to 6-5 on the season. Troy falls to 2-5 with the loss.
 
Samford took the No. 1 doubles match, but the Trojans came back to win on courts No. 2 and No. 3 to secure the doubles point.
 
In singles, however, Samford earned wins on the No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 courts to take the 5-2 victory. At No. 1 singles, Rouxanne Janse Van Rensburg defeated Matea Mihaljevic, 6-0, 6-4. On the No. 2 singles court, Natalia De Ugarte earned a 6-4, 7-5 win over Anastasii Khokhlova.
 
At No. 3 singles, Alexis Lopez defeated Shevita Aulana, 6-4, 6-2. On the No. 4 singles court, Cindy Oest earned a 6-3, 7-6 win over Michelle Ncube. At No. 6 singles, Olivia Jablonski defeated Andrea Widing, 6-3, 6-0.
 
Samford will play host to Tulane Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Samford Tennis Center.
