Hinton then stole second base and would eventually cross home plate after Ryan Brzozoski singled to short stop for a 2-0 lead.
  • In the next inning, Amanda Briskin stole two back-to-back bases and added another run for the Bulldogs after scoring on a North Dakota State throwing error.
  • After two scoreless innings for both teams, North Dakota State scored its first run of the game in the bottom of the fifth after Nicole Licea singled to right center to drive in Avery Wysong.
  • Two more runs would come for the Bison in the bottom of the seventh. Avery Wysong tripled to right field, allowing for Sam Koehn to score, while Nicole Licea grounded out to second base to score Wysong to push the game into extra innings.
  • In the top of the eighth inning, the Bulldogs were unable to score with the international rule in place. Cara Beatty was then placed on second for North Dakota State and advanced to third off a sacrifice bunt from Stephanie Soriano. When it was Sam Koehn's time at the plate, she singled to left field to drive in Kara Diaz for a 4-3 victory over Samford.
