BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis dropped a hard-fought 4-3 decision to Wofford Sunday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center for the Bulldogs last regular-season match at home.

The Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead by claiming the doubles point with wins at all three spots. Rouxanne Janse Van Rensburg and Alexis Lopez posted a dominant 6-1 victory over Wofford's Jenna Vroman and Lilie Steryous to improve the duo's overall record to 12-3 at the No. 1 spot. On the next court over, Natalia De Ugarte and Lauren Waddles partnered for the first time this season, capturing a gritty 7-5 win against Elizabeth Massie and Ansley Hardeman. Olivia Jablonski and Samantha Nanere found their fifth win of the season as a pair after defeating Brittney Wilbur and Michaela Kluska by a final decision of 6-4 on court three.
 
In singles, Samantha Nanere would grab a 6-4 victory over Emely Kahrs in the first frame and would blank Kahrs 6-0 in the second set to lock in a win for the Bulldogs at the No. 5 spot. Rouxanne Janse Van Rensburg would capture the final win of the day for Samford at the No. 1 spot after a three-set battle against Jenna Vroman for a 6-3, 5-7, 6-2 final decision. Van Rensburg now has a current overall record of 13-6 on the season.
 
The Bulldogs will travel to Cullowhee, N.C. to compete against Western Carolina on Wednesday, Apr. 14 at 1 p.m. at the Catamount Athletic Complex.
