TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team fell at Alabama by a score of 6-1 Sunday afternoon at the Roberta Alison Baumgardner Tennis Stadium.
With the loss, Samford falls to 1-1 on the young season. Alabama is now 1-0 with the win.
Alabama picked up the doubles point by winning on the No. 1 and No. 3 doubles courts. The match on the No. 2 doubles court was not finished.
In singles, Samford's
Ally Hayduk earned a 6-2, 6-2 win over Kasia Pitak at the No. 6 position. Alabama won on the first five singles courts to finish the 6-1 victory.
Samford will host North Alabama on Friday, Jan. 28. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center.
