MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Samford women's tennis team dropped a 6-1 contest to Middle Tennessee Friday afternoon at MTSU.
 
With the loss, Samford falls to 4-4 on the season. Middle Tennessee improves to 7-6 with the win.
 
Samford won the match at No. 1 singles, with Rouxanne Janse Van Rensburg defeating Lee Barnard, 6-3, 6-4. MTSU won the other five singles matches, and the Blue Raiders took the doubles point for the 6-1 victory.
 
Samford will play at South Alabama Sunday. The match is set for a 12 p.m. start from Mobile, Alabama.
