BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team opened Southern Conference play with a dominating 7-0 win over UNC Greensboro Friday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Courts.
 
With the win, Samford improves to 8-5 overall and 1-0 in Southern Conference play. UNCG falls to 1-10 overall and 0-1 in league action.
 
In doubles, Samford won on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts to earn the first point of the match. UNCG took the doubles match on the No. 1 court.
 
In singles, Samford swept all six matches. 
Rouxanne Janse Van Rensburg won at No. 1 singles. 
Samantha Nanere took the win on the No. 2 singles court. On the third singles court, 
Alexis Lopez earned the win, while 
Ally Hayduk won on the No. 4 singles court. 
Sofia Zaprianov won at No. 5 singles, and 
Lindsay Song won on the No. 6 singles court for the sweep.
 
Samford will host Mercer on Tuesday, March 22. The match is set for a 1 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center. The match can be seen live on ESPN+.
