Men’s Tennis Drops 4-3 Decision To Drake

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team fell at home to Drake, 4-3, Saturday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.

With the loss, Samford falls to 3-9 on the season. Drake improves to 5-8 with the win.

Samford won doubles matches on the No. 1 and No. 3 courts to take the first point of the match.

In singles, Samford earned wins at No. 2 and No. 5. At No. 2, Jim Hendrikx defeated Matija Matic, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3. On the No. 5 court, Harrison Williams earned a 6-1, 1-6, 6-4 win over Markus Bolin. Drake won on the No. 1, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 singles courts to take the 4-3 win.

Samford will host Alabama State on Thursday, March 24. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center.
