SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Samford women's tennis team earned a 6-1 win at Wofford Sunday afternoon in Southern Conference action.
 
With the win, Samford improves to 11-8 overall and 4-2 in Southern Conference play. Wofford falls to 7-9 overall and 1-4 in league action.
 
Samford swept all three doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead in the match.
 
In singles, Samford earned wins at the No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 positions to close out the 6-1 win.
 
At No. 1 singles, Rouxanne Janse Van Rensburg defeated Lily Woods, 6-1, 6-2. On the No. 2 singles court, Samantha Nanere earned a 7-6, 2-6, 1-0 win over Lilie Steryous. At No. 3 singles, Alexis Lopez defeated Liz Massie, 6-3, 6-3.
 
On the No. 5 singles court, Sofia Zaprianov defeated Emely Kahrs, 6-4, 6-3. At No. 6 singles, Lindsay Song earned a 6-2, 6-3 win over Brenda Brennan.
 
Samford will wrap up the 2022 regular season by hosting Chattanooga on Thursday, April 14. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center.
