CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Samford men's tennis team picked up a 4-3 win at Chattanooga Saturday afternoon in Southern Conference action.

With the win, Samford improves to 5-12 overall and 3-3 in Southern Conference play. Chattanooga falls to 5-15 overall and 3-3 in league action.

Chattanooga swept the three doubles matches to capture the first point of the day.

In singles, Samford earned wins on the No. 1, No. 2, No. 4 and No. 5 courts to secure the 4-3 win. At No. 1 singles, Mohammed Ali Bellalouna defeated Tomas Rodriguez, 6-2, 7-6. On the No. 2 singles court, Jim Hendrikx earned a 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Kerim Hyatt.

At No. 4 singles, Yerrassyl Murat defeated Peyton Gatti, 6-1, 7-6. At the No. 4 singles position, J.B. Pickard defeated Jordan McClure, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.

Samford will play at Auburn on Sunday. The match is set for a 5 p.m. start from Auburn, Ala.
