BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford track and field teams competed in the UAB Multi and Invite Thursday through Saturday.
 
Samford athletes finished in the top three an impressive 28 times during the meet. Samford student-athletes won eight different events in the meet as well.
 
Ty Kimberlin won the men's decathlon with a personal best 6,793 points. Ashton Domingue earned the win in the men's javelin throw at 63.92 meters. In the men's pole vault, Jed Sisco took home the title with a vault of 5.11 meters. Michael McMahan won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.29. McMahan also won the 400-meter hurdles, running the race in 53.42.
 
On the women's side, Alex Webb set a program record in winning the javelin throw with a toss of 48.77 meters. Morayo Bhadmos earned the win in the women's triple jump with a leap of 12.32 meters. McKenzie Hogue won the 800-meter run with a personal best time of 2:13.46.
 
Samford will next compete in the Auburn Invite, April 15-16.
