Nine Bulldogs Qualify For NCAA East Regional

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Nine members of the Samford men's and women's track and field teams have qualified for next week's NCAA East Regional, the NCAA announced Thursday.
The NCAA East Regional is scheduled for May 25-28 in Bloomington, Ind., at the Robert C. Haugh Complex on the campus of Indiana University.
From the men's team, Matt Cahoon (javelin throw), Ashton Domingue (javelin throw), Benjamin Garner (3000-meter steeplechase), Michael McMahan (400-meter hurdles), Jed Sisco (pole vault) and Seth Wolfe (hammer throw) have qualified for the meet. The women's team's participants will be Brittany Bishop (pole vault), Erin Long (javelin throw) and Alex Webb (javelin throw).
Athletes who rank among the top 48 in their respective event earn a berth into the NCAA East Regional. In addition, the best 24 relays times advance to the NCAA Regional round. Athletes with the top 12 times/marks and the best 12 relay teams at both the East and West Regional Rounds sites will qualify for the NCAA Championships in Eugene, Oregon.
