
Women’s Tennis Earns ITA Academic Awards

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team was named an All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association, and seven Bulldogs earned Scholar Athlete distinction when the ITA announced its annual academic awards Monday afternoon.
In addition to the team award, Samford's Rouxanne Janse Van Rensburg, Ally Hayduk, Christianna Hornigold, Alexis Lopez, Samantha Maras, Lindsay Song and Sofia Zaprianov were all named ITA Scholar Athletes.
To be named an All-Academic Team, a squad must post at least a 3.2 grade-point average on a 4.0 scale. For individuals, to earn Scholar Athlete honors, you must have a 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale for the current academic year.
