BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford Women's Tennis Team notched its third-straight victory with a 4-3 win over the Georgia State Panthers on Saturday afternoon.

The win improves the Bulldogs to 4-2 on the season while dropping the Panthers to 0-5. 

The Panthers claimed the double's point to gain early momentum, despite Olivia Jablonski and Cameron Rogin earning a win by default in the No. 3 spot. Samantha Nanere and Lindsay Song were edged 7-5 by Michelle Ncube and Maria Paredes in the No. 1 flight while Alexis Lopez and Ally Hayduk were bested by Eva Chivu and Pragnya Kumar in the No. 2 spot 6-3.

In singles play, Song bolstered her record to a team-best 4-2 with a straight-set win in the No. 4 flight over Kumar (6-3, 6-1). Lopez took care of business in the No. 1 spot by downing Chivu 6-3, 7-6 (7-5) while Jablonski won in straight sets over Ellie Aldrich (6-3, 6-0) and Rogin won by default in the No. 6 flight. 

The Bulldogs will be back in action on Wednesday, Feb. 15 when they host UAB for their Title IX match. First serve from the Pat M. Courington Tennis Pavillion is set for 1:30 p.m. (CST).
