HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – The Samford Men's Tennis Team picked up a 6-1 victory over Alabama A&M on Sunday afternoon.
With the win, Samford improves to 3-4 on the year while Alabama A&M falls to 0-3.
Samford picked up the double's point by taking the No. 1 and No. 3 flights. Sandeep Mohandoss and Maxwell Giddens moved to 2-0 as a duo on the year by besting Vence N'Tcha and Arnav Pathange6-4 while Darcy Nicholls and Will Gray knocked off Divesh Gahlot and Freddie Lawrence 6-2.
In singles, Giddens (6-0, 7-5), Mohandoss (6-1, 6-2), and Nicholls (6-0, 6-0) all won in straight sets. Pickard rallied to top Chih Lan in three sets at the No. 2 flight 2-6, 7-5, 10-8 while Gray notched a 1-6, 6-4, 6-0 comeback win in the No. 5 flight.
The men's tennis team will be back in action on Sunday, Feb, 26 when they begin conference play at ETSU. First serve from Johnson City, Tenn. is set for 12:00 p.m. (CST).
