BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team earned a 4-3 win over Murray State Friday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.
 
Samford improves to 5-3 with the win, while Murray State falls to 4-5 with the loss.
 
In doubles, Samford's Samantha Nanere and Lindsay Song defeated Emma Honore and Annika Pschorr, 7-5 on the No. 1 court. Murray State took the match at the No. 2 position, but at No. 3, Samford's Olivia Jablonski and Cameron Rogin won by walkover, giving Samford a 1-0 lead.
 
In singles, Samford won at No. 1, with Alexis Lopez defeating Sarah Bureau, 6-3, 7-6. At No. 5, Jablonski earned a 0-6, 6-3, 6-3 win over Paola Campigotto, and Samford's Rogin won by walkover at No. 6, giving Samford the 4-3 victory.
 
Samford will host South Alabama on Sunday, Feb. 26. The match is set for a 12 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center.
