BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team dropped a 4-3 contest to South Alabama Sunday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.
With the loss, Samford falls to 5-4. South Alabama improves to 10-0 with the win.
The Jaguars swept the three doubles matches to earn the first point of the contest.
In singles, Samford earned wins on the No. 1, No. 4 and No. 6 courts, but lost on the No. 2, No. 3 and No. 5 courts as USA came away with the 4-3 win.
At No. 1 singles,
Alexis Lopez defeated Nikola Novotna, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4. At No. 4 singles,
Lindsay Song earned a 6-4, 6-4 win over Delien Kleinhans. On the No. 6 court,
Cameron Rogin defeated Chems Doha Zeghlouli, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.
Samford will next host Lipscomb on Friday, March 3. The match is set for a 1:30 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center.
