McMillan Repeats as Coach of the Year; Dye, Glover, and Marshall Earn All-SoCon Recognition

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Head Men's Basketball Coach Bucky McMillan was named the SoCon Sports Media Association Anton Foy Coach of the Year for the second-straight season on Wednesday while Logan Dye, Ques Glover, and Jermaine Marshall all garnered All-SoCon accolades.

Dye was named to the Coaches First Team and Media Second Team, Glover to the Coaches Second Team and Media Third Team, and Marshall to the Coaches Third Team and Media Second Team.

Dye (Haleyville, Ala.) averaged 13 points and 5.1 rebounds over the regular season for Samford, highlighted by a mark of 14.6 points and 4.9 boards per game against SoCon opponents. The senior forward shot 53 percent from the floor in league play, good enough for the fourth-best efficiency in the conference. He tallied 15 or more points 12 times, with five performances of 20 or more points. Dye currently ranks 19th in program history with 1,110 career points.

Glover (Knoxville, Tenn.) led the Bulldogs in the regular season with a scoring average of 15.5 points per game. The junior guard saved his best performances for SoCon play, where he averaged 16.9 points and shot 49 percent from the floor. Glover scored 20 or more points five times this season, and recently eclipsed the 1,000-point plateau for his collegiate career against Furman on Feb. 25 to get him to 1,022 career points scored.

Marshall (Brighton, Ala.) averaged 12.8 points and 6.5 rebounds for the Bulldogs this season while posting 14.6 points and 6.9 boards per game in league play. The junior forward rebounding average in SoCon play ranked seventh-best in the conference while his 42 percent three-point efficiency in conference action ranked second among SoCon players. Marshall also ranked fourth in the conference in steals per game in SoCon games (1.6), 15th in field goal percentage, and 13th in free throw efficiency (75.9%).

In just his third year McMillan led the Bulldogs to one of the most successful seasons in program history, finishing 21-10 overall and 15-3 in SoCon play to claim a share of the regular-season title. Samford's 15 SoCon wins marked the most since joining the league in 2008 and tied the 1998-99 squad for most conference wins in a season. The Bulldogs tallied 20 regular-season wins in consecutive seasons for the first time in program history in 2022-23 under McMillan.
