HOUSTON, Texas – The Samford men's tennis team dropped a 4-0 decision at 71^st-ranked Rice Friday evening at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.
 
With the loss, Samford falls to 7-6 with the loss. Rice improves to 7-7 with the win.
 
Rice won at No. 1 and No. 2 doubles to capture the doubles point. The doubles match at No. 3 was not finished.
 
The Owls then took the singles matches at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 to secure the 4-0 win. The singles matches at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 were not finished.
 
Samford will remain in Houston to take on New Orleans Saturday. The match is set for a 12 p.m. start.
