HOUSTON, Texas – The Samford men's tennis team fell to New Orleans on the final day of a tournament at Rice Saturday at the George R. Brown Tennis Center.
 
With the loss, Samford falls to 7-7 on the season. New Orleans improves to 7-4 with the victory.
 
New Orleans won on the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles courts to capture the doubles point and take a 1-0 lead. The No. 1 doubles match was unfinished.
 
In singles, Samford's J.B. Pickard earned a 6-1, 6-4 win over Luke Joujan on the No. 4 court. New Orleans, however, won on the No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3 courts to secure the 4-1 win. The singles matches at No. 5 and No. 6 were unfinished.
 
Samford will host Belmont on Saturday, March 18. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center.
