MACON, Ga. – The Samford women's tennis team earned a 4-3 Southern Conference win at Mercer Friday evening at LeRoy Peddy Tennis Center.
 
With the win, Samford improves to 10-5 overall and 2-1 in Southern Conference play. Mercer falls to 9-7 overall and 2-1 in league action.
 
Mercer won the doubles matches at No. 1 and No. 2 to take a 1-0 lead. Samford's lone doubles win came at No. 3 where Cameron Rogin and Olivia Jablonski defeated Marina Quinones and Kristin Yordanova, 6-3.
 
In singles, Mercer won at No. 1 for a 2-0 advantage. Samford then won on the No. 6, No. 3 and No. 5 courts to take a 3-2 lead. After Mercer won at No. 2 to tie the score, Samford clinched the win on the No. 4 court where Lindsay Song defeated Camilla Ciaccia, 7-5, 7-6 (7-4), giving the Bulldogs the 4-3 win.
 
At No. 6 singles, Jablonski defeated Yordanova, 6-2, 6-1. On the No. 3 court, Samantha Nanere earned a 6-4, 6-0 win over Eden Schlagenhauf. At No. 5 singles, Rogin defeated Quinones, 6-1, 7-6 (7-5).
 
Samford will next host Wofford on Sunday, April 2. The match is set for a 12 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center.
