BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team earned a 4-3 win over Youngstown State Wednesday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.
 
With the win, Samford improves to 7-5 overall. Youngstown State falls to 5-7 with the setback.
 
Youngstown State captured the doubles point, winning on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts for the early 1-0 lead.
 
Samford came back in singles to earn wins at No. 2, No. 3, No. 4 and No. 6 to win the match, 4-3.
 
At No. 2 singles, Maxwell Giddens defeated Clement Mainguy, 6-1, 3-6, 7-5. On the No. 3 singles court, Sandeep Mohandoss earned a 2-6, 7-6, 7-6 win over Nathan Favier. At No. 4 singles, J.B. Pickard defeated Will Everett, 6-3, 6-4. At No. 6 singles, Santiago Arredondo defeated David Moreno, 6-2, 2-6, 6-1.
 
Samford will play at Rice on Friday, Mar. 10. The match is set for a 5 p.m. start from Houston, Texas.
