FULL SPRING ACADEMIC ALL-SOCON TEAM (PDF)

SPARTANBURG, S.C. -- Samford led all Southern Conference schools with 85 representatives on the Spring Academic All-SoCon team, released by the league Tuesday afternoon.
 
To be eligible for the Academic All-SoCon team, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average at the conclusion of the spring semester and were required to compete in at least one-half of their teams' competitions during the recently concluded campaign. In addition, the student-athletes must have successfully completed at least three semesters at their institutions, making true freshmen and first-year transfers ineligible for inclusion.
 
Samford's 85 student-athletes on the list averaged a GPA of 3.65. The Samford women's outdoor track and field team led all Bulldog squads with 16 representatives on the team. Women's indoor track and field placed 13 members on the team, followed by men's outdoor track and field with 11 and men's indoor track and field with nine. Rounding out Samford's teams were softball (8), women's basketball (7), women's golf (4), men's golf (4), baseball (4), men's basketball (3), men's tennis (3) and women's tennis (3).
 
Samford led all schools with 85 academic all-conference selections, followed by Western Carolina with 72 and Wofford with 71.
