TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Samford University soccer team wrapped up another successful season with an 8-0 loss at the No. 1 Florida State Seminoles in the first round of the NCAA Tournament Friday evening.
 
Samford ends its season with a mark of 12-7-3. The Bulldogs won the Southern Conference Tournament for the sixth time and earned the program's eighth bid to the NCAA Tournament, despite losing half of its goal production from the previous season. FSU advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament with a 15-2-3 record.
 
For Samford in the game, Layton Glisson and Alex Parr had a shot each, both on goal. Peyton Hull, who has had a strong freshman season in goal, played 83:22 of the contest in goal, saving five shots for the Bulldogs. Emma Donley played the final 6:38 in goal, saving one shot.
 
Florida State was led by Jordynn Dudley with two goals and two assists. Marianyela Jimenez, Carissa Boeckmann, Solai Washington, Olivia Lebdaoui, Ashlyn Puerta and Wrianna Hudson scored a goal each for the Seminoles. Addie Todd played 62:38 in goal for FSU, while Maddie Smith played the final 27:22, saving two shots.
