CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Samford women's golf team wrapped up the Oyster Shuck Match Play by earning a 4.5-0.5 win over Wofford. With only two of the scheduled three rounds being played due to inclement weather, Samford and Western Carolina are co-champions of the event.
 
"I'm very pleased with how we played today," Samford head coach Joe Davidson said. "It was another tough day with windy conditions, and the ladies were motivated for the win. Gabi, Ella and Kelley won early, and we called in the other two with Anika and Bailey. I wish we could have played Western in the final match, but that's what happens with weather sometimes. It's going to be a very good SoCon Championship in April."
 
Gabi Nicastro defeated Sofia Pedrero, 8 & 7. Ella Stoll earned a 5 & 4 win over Lindsey Hollis, and Kelley Topiwala won over Maggie Jackson, 4 & 3. The last two matches were called in, with Anika Richards winning over Lilli Horn, 2 up, and Bailey Dunstan and Bella Kent finishing in a tie.
 
Samford will next play in the ASU Spring Classic, hosted by Alabama State, Feb. 18-19, in Prattville, Ala.
